Bridget Dolbear, program services coordinator for Oswego County Opportunities’ Nutrition Services announced that OCO is participating in this year’s Summer Food Service Program. Funded through the New York State Education Department, the Summer Food Service Program provides free meals to children throughout the summer months.
SUNY Oswego has named high-performing students from the area to the President’s List for spring 2017 for earning grade point averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.00 scale.
Preparations are shaping up for the second annual Salvation Army Red Kettle Classic Golf Tournament on August 12, at Battle Island State Park Golf Course, 2150 State Route 48, Fulton. Golfers from throughout Oswego County and beyond are invited to register teams for a day of fun and fellowship that will help neighbors in need.
The first workshop, which is being co-hosted by Senator Patty Ritchie, Assemblyman Will Barclay and Neighbors of Watertown will take place on July 19 at the Sandy Pond Sportsmen’s Association (3201 County Route 15, Pulaski) at 6:30 p.m.

As Oswego Harborfest celebrates its milestone 30th year, Oswego Health, a long-time children’s parade sponsor, will once again lead this popular Friday event and offer free fun games and activities for children once the parade arrives at its destination, Franklin Square. Partnering this year with Oswego Health to offer activities at the park are the Oswego YMCA, the Oswego County Health Department, the Oswego County Traffic Safety Council and the Oswego Children’s Board.
Area students who completed their graduate studies in spring 2017 at SUNY Oswego were recognized in May at the college’s Commencement.
The Oswego County Oswego County Municipal Historians Association is sponsoring a photo contest this summer to celebrate the county’s history. The finalists in several categories will be displayed in the Heritage Building at the Oswego County Fair in August.
Oswego County Opportunities Oswego Center for Reproductive Health has welcomed Dinah Olson, PA, to its staff of medical professionals. After working for several years at a busy GYN practice in Syracuse, Olson, who had previously worked for OCO from 2000 to 2012, is happy to be rejoining OCO’s staff.
