CNY Arts Center announces a Monotype, Monoprint workshop has been scheduled with Artist Bill DeMott August 20 from 6:30 – 9 p.m. at 11 River Glen Drive on the Cayuga College Fulton Campus. The workshop will cover zinc-plate monotypes, collagraph monoprints and examples of screen-print monotypes.
The Oswego Fair Housing Council announced the winners of its annual coloring contest. Community Bank, Pathfinder Bank, and Lighthouse Lanes all donated prizes for each of the winners.
Oswego County legislators were invited to tour the facility and meet the campers over a picnic supper before the group’s July meeting. Afterward, they were treated to a musical performance by the campers and their counselors on the picturesque lakeside campus.
Quirk’s Players of G. Ray Bodley High School proudly present the lively Broadway musical, Little Shop of Horrors. The new summer theatre program will be presented August 11, 12, 18 and 19 in the air conditioned GRB Auditorium. Curtain time is set for 7:30 each evening.
Pepper is coming into his own at two months – curious, playful, affectionate and utterly fearless. He keeps trying to make friends with the older cats and dogs in his foster home, but they are uniformly cranky and just ignore him. So, he needs a home where he can make new friends.
CNY Arts Center announces a Saturday matinee performance of Bye Bye Birdie, its summer family musical, to be held Saturday, August 12 at 3 p.m.
SUNY Oswego appears on The Princeton Review’s recently published “Best Northeastern Colleges” recommended schools for 2018. The Princeton Review rated SUNY Oswego one of the top 229 colleges in the 11-state region as part of its “2018 Best Colleges: Region by Region.” Oswego has earned the “Best Northeastern Colleges” distinction every year since the educational services company started regional listings in 2003.
Rotarian William Rasbeck thanked Fulton City School District Athletic Department Secretary Helen Speck for her 15 years of assistance in the Rotary Club’s Sandy and Sylvia Squires Scholarship program.
North Volney Methodist Church will host an Anything With A Motor Show on the church grounds on August 19 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. All things with a running motor are welcome at this show, no matter if it is old or new. The more unique the better.
The “Big Band Sound” of the Oswego County Summer Concert Band, under the direction of Stan Gosek, returns to Breitbeck Park at 7 p.m. Wednesday with “Musicals and Exuberance!”
