Do you enjoy shopping with good music and good food all around you? Mark your calendars for the Port City Co-Op’s first Downtown Market for this season. The Downtown Market will feature more than 20 outdoor vendors plus an additional 30 indoor vendors, live music and food trucks.
The Oswego County Historical Society will host its annual meeting presentation on May 21 at 1:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the historic Oswego Public Library at 120 E. Second St. During the membership meeting, board president Justin White will present a brief annual report of the projects and events of the year. Immediately following, White will give a special encore presentation of the program entitled “Grand Old Homes of Oswego – Gone & Forgotten.”
The blood drive will be held from 9 to 6 p.m. in the JPC conference room in the lower level of the Oswego Health Services Center, which is adjacent to Oswego Hospital.
For 32 years, the Zonta Club of Oswego has presented the prestigious Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award to a woman who has dedicated herself to her community and who serves as a role model for young women. This year, the 33rd Amelia Earhart Woman of Achievement Award recipient is the late Billie Crandall Brady, who served the community tirelessly for more than 28 years.
Riverside Artisans is offering a unique Mother’s Day Paint Party for daughters of all ages to have a “Date with Mom” on May 13 in the Canal Commons Community room at 193 W. First St.
The two-day event on June 3-4, will set sail from Callahan’s Marina off NY Route 31, near the southeast corner of Oneida Lake. Racing on the eastern end of the lake will be visible from North and South Bay as well as the Verona and Sylvan Beach areas.
The public hearing on the Fulton City School District’s proposed 2017-2018 budget, which was held on May 3, will be aired on Spectrum Cable public access channel 96 in Fulton.
The annual book sale at Oswego’s Episcopal church — from May 18 to 21 — will offer thousands of used books and other media for sale to the general public. Hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, May 18 to 20, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, May 21.

Naturalist-led Rice Creek Rambles will explore trails, shady woods and wetlands on a dozen Saturdays this summer at SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station. The free, family-friendly hikes will take place at 11 a.m. June 3, 10, 17 and 24; July 8, 15, 22 and 29; and Aug. 5, 12, 19 and 26.
