SUNY Oswego faculty members Ching Hung Hsiao and Ming-te Pan invite applications for children and adolescents in grades 3 to 12 to attend a free summer program in Chinese language and culture called STARTALK at SUNY Oswego in Syracuse at the Metro Center. The federally funded program will run weekdays July 10-28.

“Parents want to do what is best for their children,” said Oswego County Public Health Director Jiancheng Huang. “They know the importance of car seats, safe sleep practices and other ways to protect them. One of the best protections is to make sure that their children have all of their vaccinations. Immunization is the most effective way to prevent many infectious diseases. Families, healthcare professionals and public health officials must work together to help protect the entire community in this way.”

Half-Shire Historical Society News — April 28, 2017

The spring round of renovations are nearing completion. We will be awaiting some changes to the new ceiling fan lights, which though they look good, do not provide enough light. scanning began on April 1 on the New Haven Congregational Church records. These records go back to 1817 and document births, baptisms, marriages and deaths as part of a narrative kept by the early secretaries.

Scholar Athletes for Fall, Winter Sports Recognized at Sandy Creek

At the end of each high school sports season, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association honors those teams and individuals that excel in the classroom.
