In the final Oswego County Academic Youth League competition, biology was under the microscope in the event. Students in teams of 8-10 from eight school districts in Oswego County came together to showcase their knowledge in the field of biology. For the season – Mexico was the overall champion.

The Altmar-Parish-Williamstown chapter of the National Junior Honor Society inducted 11 new members at a special ceremony held on April 12 at the school.

Oswego Middle School Principal Mary Beth Fierro along with her faculty and staff would like to recognize the following students who earned Honor Roll and/or High Honor Roll status for the third marking period of the 2016-17 school year.

In its first three campaigns, For the Kids raised $30,000 and collected a range of items to donate to the Child Advocacy Center, a local agency that provides a child-friendly and safe environment for a multi-disciplinary response to child abuse, promotes healing for victims and families and raises awareness of the issue.

Students in Robyn Yorker’s classroom at the Stepping Stones Day Program really took their academic unit on reducing, reusing and recycling to heart for their entry into a national milk carton construction contest. Members of The Blue Team invested themselves with repurposing items such as milk cartons to reduce waste at Fourth Street School in Fulton.

While the bright colors and details of artist Tommy Lincoln’s work caught the attention of students in grades one through four, it was his message of perseverance, networking and persistence that children were able to keep.

In 2009, the Mount Adnah Preservation Foundation, Inc., established the Memorial Brick Walkway at the site of the former Case Memorial Chapel in Mount Adnah Cemetery, East Broadway. There are now more than 270 inscribed memorial bricks in the walkway.
