The Center for Wound Healing at Oswego Health, a member of the Healogics network, is supporting the American Diabetes Association Diabetes Alert Day on March 28. Diabetes Alert Day represents an important reminder for community members to assess their possible risk for type 2 diabetes.
SUNY Oswego’s annual Honors Convocation will celebrate student academic achievement at 3 p.m. April 7, in the Marano Campus Center arena and convocation hall, with a keynote by 1977 graduate Dr. Raelynn Cooter, associate provost for academic infrastructure at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia.
The Oswego Head Start Pre-K Program recently expanded and now offers three classes: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.; and 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Provided through Oswego County Opportunities, the Head Start Pre-K Program is available in all nine Oswego County school districts.

The Oswego Lions Club will hold its 19th annual Wine and Beer tasting with silent auction March 31 at the American Foundry in Oswego. The event is scheduled for 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., with pre-sale tickets $15 and $20 at the door the night of the event. The Fulton Women’s Club had its monthly luncheon at Holy Trinity Church on March 22. Sue Conklin a Tai Chi instructor from The Greater Baldwinsville YMCA was the guest speaker.
Tyler Art Gallery’s branch at SUNY Oswego in Syracuse will host a free public reception from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 30, for mixed-media artist Jason Cheney. An exhibition of Cheney’s new work, titled “Internum Opera,” is scheduled to run March 24 to May 26 at the gallery in the Metro Center, 2 Clinton Square, in Syracuse’s Atrium building.
The Oswego County Historical Society will host its 30th Annual “Not So Silent Auction” fundraiser on April 7 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at The American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St. “Many wonderful donations have been made by generous businesses, historical society members and local residents,” said Mary Kay Stone, co-chair of the event.
