The Oswego Rotary Club and the Not Too Far From Home Comedy Tour will present an evening of professional stand-up comedy to benefit the Rotary Club on May 6 at The American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St. Doors open 5 p.m. so you can enjoy Kentucky Derby-themed drinks and
snacks. The race starts at 6:15 p.m. and will be shown on the big screen on stage.
More than 400 residents have signed up to take advantage of this opportunity which is sponsored by OCWNY, the Oswego County Workforce Development Board, the Oswego County Poverty Reduction Task Force and NY Wired for Education.
In recognition of Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County is collaborating with its community partners to help raise awareness of child abuse in Oswego County.
The Oswego County Environmental Management Council will celebrate Earth Week throughout Oswego County from April 22 through 29. “Earth Week is a time for county residents to participate in litter and debris cleanups and other environmentally-themed activities in their communities,” said EMC Chairman Tim Carroll.

The Oswego Players will show the film, “Oswego Discovers Itself” in the Frances Marion Brown Theater at the Oswego Civic Arts Center on April 11 at 7:30 p.m. The showing will follow the Players’ regular monthly membership meeting, to which the public is invited. The meeting begins at 7 p.m.

Graduating seniors were recognized in their final performance as members of the Sandy Creek High School Concert Band by Band Director Thomas Artini during the spring concert on April 6.
The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 24 Oswego, is offering a Boating Safely class on May 7 at the Sandy Pond Sportsman Association, 3201 County Route 15, Pulaski from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Successful completion of this class will result in a Boating Safety Certificate.
The Family Video movie rental store in Fulton has used spare change to raise more than $800 for Lymphoma research. As part of the annual “Round-It-Up” campaign, Family Video customers were offered the opportunity to donate the change of every purchase, rounded to the nearest dollar, to the Lymphoma Research Foundation and the Bio Bank at the University of Chicago.
