New Exhibits at the Art Association of Oswego

Two new art exhibits will be opening at the Art Association of Oswego on September 17 with a public reception from 7 to 9 p.m. In the upstairs gallery will be an exhibition of photography by two area artists entitled Journey West. The downstairs gallery will feature a solo show of Beth Sotherden’s watercolors.

Housing Conference Delves Into Oswego County History

An evening of history will be presented in downtown Oswego Sept. 14, with a presentation on the historic architecture of Oswego County as part of the county’s bicentennial celebration. Beginning at 5 p.m., Oswego County Historian Justin White and Austin Wheelock of Heritage Foundation of Oswego County will present a photo history of Oswego County’s significant architectural heritage.

School’s Open – Drive Carefully Campaign Begins Today, September 6

The New York State Police from Troop D urge motorists to support AAA’s annual “School’s Open – Drive Carefully” campaign to help preserve the safety of children traveling to and from school. AAA’s yearly “School’s Open -Drive Carefully” campaign alerts motorists to the special risks to school-age children from motor vehicle crashes, the leading cause of death for children from five to fourteen years old.

Price Chopper Partners with Salvation Army On School Supplies for Children

The Salvation Army of Oswego and the Price Chopper stores in Fulton and Oswego are partnering to help children start the school year prepared to succeed. Each Price Chopper store will have an in-store display to encourage shoppers to purchase school items while shopping in the store. All the school supplies collected will be donated to the local Salvation Army who will provide the supplies to area students.
