Deborah F. Stanley, president of SUNY Oswego, is presiding at the spring meeting of the Council of State Representatives, a council of the American Association of State Colleges and Universities, this week in Washington, D.C.

Marisa T. Turner of Pennellville has been selected for membership into Psi Chi, the international psychology honorary society, at St. Lawrence University in Canton. Turner is a member of the Class of 2016 and is majoring in anthropology and psychology.
The Oswego Fire Department will host a child safety seat check on Saturday (March 5) from 9 a.m. to noon. Nationally certified child passenger safety technicians from various local agencies will be on hand to make sure seats are installed properly, have no recalls, and are safe for your children.
The Oswego Fire Department announces the retirement of Firefighter Ronald J. Nelson after 20 years of dedicated service. Nelson was hired on March 3, 1996, became a New York State Certified Critical Care Technician in 1998 and in October of that same year was named Assistant EMS Coordinator for the Oswego Fire Department.
