Reality Check recently participated in this year’s Oswego City-County Youth Bureau’s annual Hollis Harvest. In addition to trick or treating at cabins, youth had the opportunity to participate in a variety of fall games, pumpkin carving and arts and crafts.

For SUNY Oswego students and residents at St. Francis Commons in Oswego art is alive at the assisted living residence. Through the Arts Alive! Program, college students and seniors come together in a novel learning environment where “student” is “teacher.”

Members of the Salvation Army Red Kettle Committee started their annual campaign early this year. It will begin Friday, November 13, and run to December 24 at 30 locations in Oswego County.

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County is pleased to announce that the 2015 annual Oswego County Holiday Farmers’ Market will be held on December 5, as part of the “Christmas in Mexico” festivities.

On November 15, a pancake breakfast to help support Cub Scout Pack 888, will be held at Lake City Masonic Lodge No. 127 at 127 E. Seneca St. The hours will be from 8 a.m. until noon.

Joy Zimmerman, director of Ontario Health and Fitness Center and Pulaski Physical Therapy presented a $2,459 check to Oswego County Opportunities Development Coordinator Margaret Barclay in support of the OCO Head Start program.

On November 21, the Library will host a gala fundraiser from 6 – 10 p.m. Wine tasting will be provided by Ashley Lynn Winery and Thousand Islands Winery. The Fulton Library is celebrating the 180th birthday of Andrew Carnegie (November 25, 1835).

Military Times has named SUNY Oswego a 2016 Best for Vets College, ranking it among only 125 four-year colleges and universities nationwide for the second consecutive year.
