“Moving Women to Power” is not only the Connections tagline, it’s also the number one goal of every Connections conference. That is why Connections has created the “Woman of Power” award. This award will recognize a woman whose civic and community service goes beyond “normal” responsibilities, creating a lasting and beneficial impact on the community.
Children must turn four years old on or before December 1, 2015, to register for our Universal Pre-Kindergarten program; and Children must turn five years old on or before December 1, 2015, to register for Kindergarten.

Civil War historian and Oswego native Thomas J. Ebert will speak on just exactly who started the Civil War in a lecture Aug. 12, at 7 p.m. inside the barracks of old Fort Ontario. He will briefly make the case for and against five possible culprits in the initiation of this conflict: the Founding Fathers, Stephen A. Douglas, John Brown, Abraham Lincoln, and the Confederacy as represented by Jefferson Davis.
Port City Roller Derby will take on Enchanted Mountain Roller Derby on August 15. The event will be held at Crisafulli Rink in Oswego. A portion of the bout’s proceeds go to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
SUNY Oswego appears on The Princeton Review’s recently released “Best in the Northeast” recommended schools for 2016. The educational services company rated SUNY Oswego one of the top 225 colleges in the 11-state region as part of its “2016 Best Colleges: Region by Region.” Oswego has been on every regional best list produced by The Princeton Review.
During this test, technicians will be stationed near the siren sites to verify that the actual sound coverage is the same as what was predicted in the design. The sirens will sound at approximately 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
