The H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego will be offering a special program on August 2, at 2:30 p.m. Both the U.S. Coast Guard birthday and National Lighthouse Day fall very close together on August 4 and 7, respectively. For the last several years, the Maritime Museum has celebrated with a lecture and gathering to honor those that had served and currently serve in the USCG.

Assemblyman Will Barclay announced that interested constituents can take the New York State boater safety course online. Previously, the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation required boat operators to attend eight-hour sessions in a classroom.
