As More Students Struggle With English, Syracuse Teachers Go Back To School

A group of Syracuse elementary and secondary teachers are building their expertise to teach students with limited English proficiency through a partnership with SUNY Oswego and the New York State Education Department. The department approached SUNY Oswego’s School of Education last fall about the need to improve instruction for the growing numbers of students in urban schools who are learning English.

Oswego County Will Hold Annual Auction of Tax Properties July 18

The Oswego County Real Property Tax Service will sell up to 130 parcels of tax delinquent properties at the annual tax property auction July 18 at Oswego High School, Buccaneer Boulevard. Bidder registration begins at 8 a.m. and the auction will start at 10 a.m. An informational and early registration meeting for bidders will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. July 17, at the high school.

Office For Aging Will Distribute Farmers’ Market Coupon Booklets in July

The Oswego County Office for the Aging will have Farmers’ Market Coupon Booklets available beginning July 1. The booklets are valued at $20. There are a limited number of coupon booklets available and distribution is on a first come, first served basis.
There is a limit of one booklet per household.

Color my World Juried Art Show Seeks Artists

CNY Arts Center announces their next juried art show “Color My World” July 10-12 at their River Glen Drive location on the Cayuga Community College Campus. “We want to see the diverse colors that CNY artists use in their work.
