On Flag Day, June 14, from noon to 4:30 p.m., the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Oswego Lodge #271, will host a free U.S. Flag retirement program outside the entrance of Old Fort Ontario. The public is cordially invited to turn in their worn out flags for proper retirement by members of the Oswego Elks.
For adolescent survivors of sexual abuse, healing from this traumatic experience is often quite a difficult process. However, in times like these the services offered through the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County are able to provide the survivor with the tools necessary to expedite the healing process. One of those tools is the upcoming “Darkness to Light Workshop” that will be held June 30 at Fallbrook Recreation Center, 103 Thompson Road in Oswego.
The Frederick Leighton Elementary School Home and School Association will hold its 15th annual “All You Can Eat” Full Breakfast with the generous support of the Oswego Elks Lodge. The event will take place at the Oswego Elks Lodge on June 7 from 8:30 a.m. – noon.
It’s not too late. The Fulton City School District still has openings left in its Universal Pre-Kindergarten program. Children must turn four years old on or before December 1, 2015, to register for our Universal Pre-Kindergarten program.
Kingsford Park second grade students from the classrooms of Kelly Waite, Melissa Stafford and Taylor Castaldo recently visited historic Fort Ontario in Oswego as part of the students’ studies on the War of 1812.
Participants in the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce Golf Annual Golf Spectacular will have a chance to drive away $10,000 richer. Thanks to two hole-in-one contests sponsored by Burritt Motors and The Fitzgibbons Agency. The Burritt Motors Hole-In-One Contest offers a chance to win a new automobile, while the Fitzgibbons Agency Hole-In-One Contest offers the chance to win $10,000.
Entries are being accepted through August 28 for the 10th annual Erie Canalway Photo Contest. Winning photos will be featured in the 2016 Erie Canalway calendar, which is available free of charge in December.
The following students graduated on May 9, from Paul Smith’s College, which is located in the Adirondack Park of New York state.
