On May 31, the Jacksonville Faith Community in the town of Lysander held a Memorial day ceremony in the Lamson Grange. The ceremony remembered the veterans in Jacksonville Cemetery. The cemetery contains the remains of honored dead from all of America’s wars from the American Revolution until the losses in our recent combat.
The event featured presentations on the expectations of motherhood and the benefits of breastfeeding, as well as education and discussion regarding nutrition throughout pregnancy and while breastfeeding and what to expect while in the hospital for delivery.

Sandy Creek Elementary School students tested their knowledge and practiced their skills during a recent contest that challenged students in every class to complete the most problems. As part of a pizza party contest, each class tried to complete the most problems in their grade level on IXL, which is an innovative tool that promotes learning through the use of technology.
National HIV Testing Day on June 27 is a national awareness campaign designed to encourage everyone to know their status and get tested. Many people are living with HIV and unaware that they have the virus as many people don’t have any symptoms.
In two separate performances featuring hundreds of teachers, parents, community members and fellow peers, the fifth/sixth grade orchestra and chorus each performed several songs that pleased the proud audience.
