The popular play with four actors portraying 25 characters will return for one performance only on March 21 at 8 p.m. as part of CNY Arts Center’s Dessert Theatre Series. The center is located a 11 River Glen Drive on the CCC Fulton Campus.
SUNY Oswego President Deborah F. Stanley has announced the appointment of Dr. Jerald Woolfolk as interim diversity and inclusion officer. Woolfolk will continue to serve as Oswego’s vice president for student affairs and enrollment management, a position she assumed Jan. 1, 2014.
Rudy’s Lakeside Drive-in will provide the Oswego County Salvation Army’s Guest Chef Dinner on March 18, with dining room and take-out service from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meal will include clams, fish, coleslaw, salt potatoes, and macaroni salad, along with desserts and beverages provided by members of the advisory board.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary Club meeting, Rotarian Linda Rossiter introduced Steve Chirello representing the Literacy Coalition of Oswego County. He showed a video that highlighted the problem with 20% in our county reading below fifth grade levels leading to life-long social and economic deficiencies.
Replacement batteries have been mailed from the Oswego County Emergency Management Office to county residents who have an emergency planning tone-alert weather radio. Director Dale A. Currier said that replacement batteries are mailed to residents on an annual basis to ensure proper operation of these radios.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on March 22. Serving will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be sloppy Joe, macaroni and cheese, carrots and rolls.
The Fulbright Scholar program has awarded Christopher Harris of the SUNY Oswego computer science faculty an opportunity to travel to Finland this August for nearly a year to explore cross-cultural user experience and user design, plus a variety of other research and teaching interests in human-computer interaction and business.
The Hannibal Senior High Instrumental Music Department will present a concert celebrating Music in Our Schools Month on March 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school’s Lockwood Auditorium. The National Association for Music Education the month of March as a time to recognize the impact music has within our schools.
It will be held at the Polish Home, 153 W. First St., Fulton, from noon until 6 p.m. The event will feature The Flyin’ Column Irish show band, the Kinlough and Butler Irish dancers, raffles and corned beef and ham dinners. The event is sponsored by the Fulton Ancient Order of Hibernians. Admission is $3.
Oswego County Legislators presented the Malone family a plaque in honor of the late Buildings and Grounds Superintendent William Malone at the March 12 meeting. Malone, who worked for the Buildings and Grounds Department more than 25 years, passed away Dec. 19, 2014.
