The graduates will transfer to other colleges and universities across New York and the country; seek employment in a career related to their studies; or pursue other career and life objectives with their new MVCC degrees and certificates.

More than 100 CiTi students were recently recognized for achieving academic success during the first half of the school year. The top three students enrolled in each Career and Technical Education (CTE) course were rewarded for their hard work and dedication with a luncheon at CiTi’s Mexico campus, where they were greeted by CTE Principal Marla Berlin and counselors Dave Eastman and Scott Henry.

Sandy Creek Elementary students enjoyed hot chocolate in celebration of Valentine’s Day. The students say they look forward to the yearly treat and the Valentine’s celebration that happens later in the day.

To achieve Dean’s List status, a student must earn a 3.25 GPA or higher based on a 4.0 grading system.

Oswego County Opportunities, one of the top ten largest private employers in Oswego County, has welcomed twelve new members to the agency’s staff. The new employees, who will join the OCO’s staff of human services professionals, recently completed the agency’s orientation process and will begin to serve consumers in their respective programs.

Fifth grade students at Kingsford Park School are enjoying the curriculum offered through the Common Core, because it means more opportunities to connect with the community. The standards bring the community to the classroom, and the classroom to the community, allowing students to make real-life connections with their own learning, according to the Kingsford Park Elementary teacher Kelly Moxley.

On the second Wednesday of the month, starting with March 11, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., you are invited to bring your lunch (or buy one from the Hometown Diner or the Makes Sense Shop) to the Carriage House at the Pulaski Historical Society. Coffee, tea, water or soda will be provided.

A handful of college students, as well as a local politician, recently gathered at the Oswego Salvation Army’s office to help paint and improve the interior of the building. Students from SUNY Oswego and Oswego Councilor Billy Barlow volunteered their time to help paint a room that is designed for the army’s Bridging the Gap between Youth and Social Services program.

Students in Jessica Frost’s kindergarten class at Granby Elementary School in the Fulton City School District recently had 100 reasons to celebrate. On Feb. 24, the class commemorated the 100th day of the 2014-2015 school year by participating in a variety of fun and educational activities.
