Leighton Elementary School held its annual spelling bee recently. MaryKate Cloonan captured first place while Ava and Anna Cloonan finished second and third, respectively.
Herkimer College awarded academic honors to 491 students for the fall 2014 semester. Of those students awarded honors, 320 were named to the Dean’s List for earning a grade point average between 3.25 and 3.79.
