Food and craft vendors, musical performances and treasure hunts are a few of the many events in store for Warm Up Oswego to be held on February 7. The Oswego Network of Entrepreneurs was invited to take on Warm Up Oswego for 2015, the 10th anniversary of the event.
At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary meeting, President Dennis Goss, on behalf of Sunrise Rotary, presented a donation to Sarah Tyron from Oswego County Catholic Charities to assist the Food Pantry.
Residents at Morningstar Residential Care enjoyed an afternoon of Christmas carols and holiday favorites during sing-a-long with Santa. The sing-a-long helped kick off the final countdown to Christmas.
Ali McGrath, resource development director for the United Way of Greater Oswego County announced that Excellus BlueCross BlueShield has once again lent its support as Leadership Giver for United Way’s Annual Campaign.
SUNY Oswego has been named to Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine’s list of 100 best values in public colleges for 2015. The ranking cites four-year schools that combine outstanding academics with affordable cost.
The shop features item from the H. Lee White Maritime Museum, Fort Ontario, Richardson-Bates House Museum, Oswego Railroad Museum, Scriba Historical Society and more. The hours are noon – 5 p.m. from now until Christmas Eve with the exception of Sunday when the shop is closed. The shop offers souvenirs and memorabilia from museums and historical societies from around the county.
Youth Outreach Geared Against Synthetics is an informational program put together by Farnham Family Services and the Victor Orlando Woolson Foundation, Inc., to help raise awareness of drugs, specifically synthetic drugs, to area youth. The program was recently presented to after-school groups by Penny Morley (Farnham Family Services prevention director), Teresa Woolson and Sarah Gauger (VOW Foundation members).
Emerson J Dillon students celebrate with an ice cream social for receiving a quarter one gold or silver star, which indicates a grade point average above 90 or 85.
A standing-room-only crowd of faculty and family members filled the Lura M. Sharp auditorium to hear the sounds of the season during the pre-kindergarten through third grade concert.
As always, vehicles were parked down the street for the Sandy Creek Elementary Holiday Concert. A learning and appreciation for culture was evident in the performance with a Hanukkah song and even a song involving a piñata in a Mexican Christmas tradition.
