Robert Morris University proudly congratulates Dalton K Izyk of Oswego for being named to the Spring 2014 Dean’s List. Dalton is majoring in Undeclared Business at Robert Morris University.

The Oswego County Farm Bureau is excited to partner with the New York Farm Bureau Foundation for Agricultural Education on a new pilot program to help people better understand where their food comes from. The Oswego County Farm Bureau’s Promotion and Education Committee will deliver informational placemats to interested local restaurants to use on their tables.

To receive Dean’s List honors, full-time students must earn at least a 3.25 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

The 157th Oswego County Fair will open July 2 and run through July 6 at Sandy Creek. Half-Shire again has charge of the Heritage building this year, marking our 20th year there. We have a week full of events planned and look forward to seeing our members and friends from across the region.

The 17th edition of the St. Luke-Francis Boyce Memorial Charity Golf Tournament promises to be another fun-filled day of golf and socializing as the event tees off on August 9 at Battle Island Golf Course, with an 8 a.m. shotgun start. The four-person captain and crew tournament attracts both serious and novice golf teams alike – with prizes awarded in both categories.

Life’s best things are free at Mexico Point Park. Keeping that thought in mind, Mexico Point Park presents its annual free Lakeside Concert and fireworks on July 13, starting at 6 p.m. Come early to go hiking and swimming.

At a recent Fulton Sunrise Rotary Meeting, Rotarian Dan Farfaglia introduced Congressman Dan Maffei, US Representative of NY 24th District. Maffei, who is also a Rotarian, spoke how Rotary guidelines enhance his role in the House of Representatives.

Each year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like OCO to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. Funded through the New York State Education Department, the Summer Food Service Program provides free meals to all children 18 years and under.
