Middle School Student Council members at Sandy Creek Middle School made very special “cancer care packages” that will be distributed to patients undergoing treatment at St. Joseph’s Hospital Hematology/Oncology Association of Central New York.
The Lura Sharp Elementary School auditorium was a sea of red, white and blue as some classes constructed their own versions of patriotic attire and others chose from their own “flag day” wardrobe.
The Pulaski Senior High School Concert Band presented an instrumental music concert, directed by Jack Jennings recently. The final band concert for the school year, the musicians presented an outstanding show for their final high school performance.
New members included: Nicholas Allen, Jade Armstrong, Courtney Clark, Larissa Clark, Cassandra Delgado, Isabel Engelbrekt, Grace Farrell, Craig Gibbons, Megan Jennings, Samantha Jones, Aleah LaFlamme, Darby Leaf, Matthew McNitt, Randall Novak, Erik Oakes, Kaeleigh Paternoster, Nicholas Peters, Caleb Sedore and Mary Young.
Pulaski Senior High School Principal Jay Altobello recently announced Emma van der Heide as Valedictorian and Jacqueline Novak and Annamarie Forestiere as Co-Salutatorians for the class of 2014.
The top two students for the Sandy Creek High School Class of 2014 were recently announced by Maureen Shiel, principal at the school. Gabriella Guarasce was named Valedictorian and Clarice Thibault was named Salutatorian for the graduating class.
Sixty-nine graduating seniors were recognized in a special ceremony and banquet at G. Ray Bodley High School for having achieved high honor academic status all four years of high school. The students were presented with special high honor pins they will wear at graduation.
Hundreds of thousands of dollars were awarded to Hannibal High School students during a year-end awards ceremony June 18. The funding, which came in the form of grants, scholarships and awards, will help defray some of the costs for students to attend college.
Jacqueline Novak, a senior and member of the National Honor Society at Pulaski High School, has been named one of 200 state finalists in the National Honor Society Scholarship from the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
The Hannibal American Legion will be holding a benefit for the family of Dylan Blair. A spaghetti dinner will be held at Legion on July 10.
