The Child Passenger Safety team made sure that every baby they saw was riding as safely as possible at last month’s child passenger safety seat check at the Best Western in Oswego. Child Passenger Safety Education is funded by a grant from the NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee.

Karrie Damm, executive director of the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County has announced that the agency recently welcomed two new members to its board of directors.
The latest poetry collection by Lewis Turco, professor emeritus of English and creative writing at SUNY Oswego, opens with “Oswego,” the lead poem in a section called “Home Tunes.” Star Cloud Press published the book, titled “The Familiar Stranger,” on Turco’s 80th birthday May 2.
“These people made a bad decision to get in the car with someone who had been drinking,” said Stop DWI instructor Cathy McPherson as she surveyed the mock accident scene. “You may be faced with the same decision. I hope you see all the people who are affected by this accident and think about that when you consider getting into a car with someone who has been drinking.”
