Due to the recent withdrawal of a candidate for the office of school board member, the Sandy Creek Central School District has extended the deadline to May 13 for filing petitions for nominating candidates for the office of board member.

The school’s Spring Concert marked the final concert of the school year and the final concert for many APW musicians graduating in June.

Calling all ‘Rebels,’ gear up with your blue and gold to support the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District Marching Band. Members of the marching band performed recently at the APW Senior High School Spring Concert to give audience members a taste of what to expect from the band this spring and summer.

There were 46,659 indicated reports of child abuse and neglect in New York State in 2012, according to Christine Deyss, executive director of Prevent Child Abuse New York. During April, many local organizations are spreading awareness, including the Oswego City School District who is spreading child abuse awareness and raising funds with their own “Pinwheels for Prevention” campaign.

The program of direct aid seeks to attract and retain undergraduate students to SUNY campuses who have demonstrated high academic achievement and can demonstrate that they will contribute to the diversity of the student body.

Air Force Airman Daniel R. Bateman graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas. He is a 2013 graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School, Fulton.

Sarah Skinner of Oswego recently completed her lacrosse career at the University of Rochester with three goals and three draw controls against host Bard College. She finishes ranking second all-time in draw controls and sixth overall in caused turnovers for the Yellowjackets.

At its March 27 meeting, the Sandy Creek Central School District Board of Education heard a presentation from the district’s architectural firm SEI Design Group. SEI was given the district’s Building Condition Survey to form the basis of their next project.

Students ranking in the top 10 percent of baccalaureate programs and the top 20 percent of graduate programs at schools accredited by AACSB International – The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business are eligible for this invitation.
