Oswego Health’s more than 80 laboratory employees who often work behind the scenes performing more than two million tests each year, that assist physicians in determining a patient diagnosis, are celebrating National Medical Laboratory Professionals Week April 20 through 26.
The Oswego County Historical Society will host its 27th Annual “Not So Silent Auction” fundraiser on April 25 from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the American Foundry, 246 W. Seneca St.
Admission is $20 and includes a food buffet and cash bar. Tickets will be available at the door.
In an effort to increase the tourism and hospitality knowledge of Oswego County’s front-line employees, a free four-hour training program is being offered at the Lake Ontario Conference Center on May 19 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Three local Fulton Head Start sites (Pinewoods Head Start, Fairgrieve Head Start/UPK, and Fulton Head Start) recently hosted an evening of fun activities centered around the beloved children’s author, Eric Carle.
Brightly colored marshmallow bunnies and chicks recently invaded teacher Robyn Yorker’s Blue Team classroom at Oswego County BOCES Stepping Stones Day Program in Fulton. The students were challenged to build a Peep-centric scene, and chose to represent professional baseball in Central New York.
The new automotive repair and maintenance business occupies 3,300 square feet on a 1.75-acre site at 21 Fred Haynes Boulevard in the town of Oswego. The business employs five.
The Oswego Public Library is offering an excellent opportunity to view the history of the town and village of Hannibal. Town and village historian Lowell Newvine will be offering a slide and PowerPoint program on Hannibal’s past in the Erik and Emily Cole Community Room of the Oswego Public Library on May 3 from 1-2 p.m.
The Hannibal Democratic Committee’s annual chicken barbecue will be held on May 4 at the Hannibal American Legion on Rochester Street. The BBQ will run from noon until 3 p.m. or until the chicken is gone.
On Tuesday Port City Toastmasters will host a open house at the The Hall Newman Center at 36 New St., in Oswego. Toastmaster is a club that develops leadership and communication skills. All are invited to visit the Toastmasters on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
There will be a chicken barbecue sponsored by Friends of History In Fulton on May 4.
It will benefit the John Wells Pratt House Museum, local history museum at 177 S. First St.
Serving will be from 11:30 a.m. until sold out at the Pavilion, Bullhead Point, Route 3 West.
