The Oswego Public Library is offering an excellent opportunity to view the history of the town and village of Hannibal. Town and village historian Lowell Newvine will be offering a slide and PowerPoint program on Hannibal’s past in the Erik and Emily Cole Community Room of the Oswego Public Library on May 3 from 1-2 p.m.
The Hannibal Democratic Committee’s annual chicken barbecue will be held on May 4 at the Hannibal American Legion on Rochester Street. The BBQ will run from noon until 3 p.m. or until the chicken is gone.
On Tuesday Port City Toastmasters will host a open house at the The Hall Newman Center at 36 New St., in Oswego. Toastmaster is a club that develops leadership and communication skills. All are invited to visit the Toastmasters on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.
There will be a chicken barbecue sponsored by Friends of History In Fulton on May 4.
It will benefit the John Wells Pratt House Museum, local history museum at 177 S. First St.
Serving will be from 11:30 a.m. until sold out at the Pavilion, Bullhead Point, Route 3 West.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on April 27 serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.
The Oswego Lions Club with host the third Annual Rivers Edge “handmade” Craft Show on June 8. The event will take place along the beautiful rivers edge, on West Liner Park, in Oswego. Hours for the craft show will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Oswego Cub Scout Pack 888, Bear Den went on a “Go See It” to Murdocks Bicycle & Sports in Oswego. They learned about bike safety, protecting our bike from theft, how to take care of our bikes and how to change a bicycle tire.
The Nazareth College Department of Theatre Arts and Theatre League will present The Cherry Orchard, the fourth and final production of its 2013-2014 season.
Girls from throughout the 26-county region of the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, including 223 local girls, have earned the highest awards in Girl Scouting, the Gold, Silver, and Bronze Awards. The prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award a Girl Scout can earn.
