There will be a garage sale along Bidwell Road starting at 9 a.m. on May 17. At least eight families will be participating; look for the balloons. All sorts of new and not so new garage sale stuff will be available.
Principal Lisa Garofalo gave certificates to one student from each classroom that exemplified the character trait for April which is self-control. In addition to the classroom role models, students were recognized and awarded certificates for being “On A Roll” models.

The “Class of 2013” was inducted into the Oswego High School Athletic Hall of Fame on April 26 at the Oswego County Club. Nearly 100 people were present at the event that was marked by emotional and sincere speeches from the newest inductees.
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program, a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations is now accepting registrations for a six-week workshop in Lacona on falls prevention called “Six Steps to Better Balance.” At 1 p.m. May 14, the North Country Christian Church in Lacona will host an informational demonstration the program.
Cazenovia College has released the names of students honored for academic achievement during the fall semester of 2013. Those named to the Dean’s List have achieved a 3.5 or better grade point average for all courses attempted and have earned 12 or more credits during the semester.
On April 24, the Oswego Public Library hosted people reading their favorite poems. Oswego Mayor Tom Gillen led off with The Stolen Child by W. B. Yeats. Libbie and Conner read also before Librarian Edward Elsner finished up with the favorites of Diane C., Matthew Brancato and an attempt at pronouncing Spanish.
Oswego County Opportunities is holding a “Bling, Fling and Swing” Raffle with three exciting prizes, and the name “Bling, Fling & Swing” helps describe them.

President of Oswego County Opportunities’ board of directors Connie Cosemento recognized outgoing board members at OCO’s annual meeting held April 23 at Springside at Seneca Hill. The individuals were honored for their years of dedicated service to OCO as members of the agency’s board of directors.
