Several members of the Volney Volunteer Fire Department recently gave a safety talk at The Manor at Seneca Hill. Among those in the audience were participants of the Adult Day Health Services Program, which is offered weekdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Executive Director of the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County, Karrie Damm, announced that Shannon Kiefer has joined the staff as a victim advocate. A native of Pennellville, Kiefer previously served as a substitute teacher in the Phoenix School District.
Now through November 25, churches in Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Oneida, and Oswego counties will be collecting Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts packed with school supplies, hygiene items and small toys to go to boys and girls ages 2-14 in countries struggling with conflict, poverty, and disaster around the world.
All Oswego County offices, including the solid waste transfer stations and recycling drop-off centers, will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 28 and 29 for Thanksgiving.
