Plans are under way for the celebration of the 10th Annual Country Christmas in the town of Hannibal November 23 and 24. This event kicks off the holiday season and showcases local merchants’ seasonal offerings. Town merchants and organizations will be greeting guests, running specials and offering holiday treats. Each merchant will also be offering a door prize.

A spaghetti dinner to benefit the Oswego High School Lady Buccaneer Softball Team will be held at the Oswego High School cafeteria on November 21, from 4:30 until 7 p.m. The cost of the dinner is $7 for adults, $6 for senior citizens and children 5 to 12; children under 5 eat free.
With just weeks remaining to raise $8,450 (by December 15), the advisory committee is working hard to reach its fundraising goal. Meeting its goal will make the Fund eligible to receive a dollar-for-dollar matching grant of $15,000 from the John Ben Snow Memorial Trust.
The Oswego Rotary club recently recognized Selma Sheridan, Joette Deane and Sabine Ingerson as Paul Harris Fellows. The PHF designation is a recognition of monetary contributions to the Rotary International Foundation.

Lura Sharp Elementary School held a very special Veterans’ Day ceremony to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces for their service and mark the holiday. The students invited members of their family or neighbors who have or are currently serving in the Armed Forces to the patriotic event coordinated by Kelly Shumway, a teacher at the school.
Two SUNY Oswego master’s candidates in graphic arts will open an MA Thesis Exhibition titled “Instill” on Nov. 22, in Tyler Art Gallery on campus. Bachelor of fine arts candidates will open a companion display, and participate in the free public artists’ reception that day from 5 to 7 p.m. at the gallery. Bachelor of arts degree recipients also will hold an exhibition in a gallery in Room 201 and elsewhere around Tyler Hall.
Members of the Media Unit, a not-for-profit performance and production program for Central New York teens will bring their production of ‘Ask the Question,’ an original performance incorporating music and dance that explores the behaviors of bullies, victims and bystanders.
