Kinney Drugs in Fulton has added to the holiday celebrations for residents of Michaud Residential Health Services. Through their “Be A Santa For A Senior” program, the Fulton Kinney Drugs collected gifts, and donated them to Michaud – to help make sure residents find something special under the Christmas tree this season.
The weather outside might have been frightful on Monday, but the music filling the John C. Birdlebough Auditorium was more than delightful! The Phoenix Community Band, under the direction of director David Frateschi, performed their much anticipated annual Winter Concert series on December 16.
Career and Technical Education students enrolled in the morning and the afternoon Public Safety and Justice programs at Oswego County BOCES organized a community outreach project to benefit the ‘Toys For Tots’
Life for some local residents just got a little bit sweeter and merrier this holiday season thanks in part to the Exceptional Education students at BOCES. The ‘sweet’ part was a fun project that was coordinated with the Culinary Arts Career and Technical Education Program at OCB. The ‘merry’ part was a Christmas caroling field trip to the Ladies Home of Oswego, St. Luke Health Services and The Manor at Seneca Hill.
The Oswego Public Library will close early on Christmas Eve. The hours for Tuesday, December 24, will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The library will reopen on December 26 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Robert Morris University proudly congratulates Dalton Izyk of Oswego for being named to the Fall 2013 Dean’s List. Dalton, is majoring in Undeclared Business at Robert Morris University.
Parishioners of St. Mary’s Church in Oswego donated dozens of new toys to Oswego County Children’s Fund. Established last year through collaboration with Catholic Charities of Oswego County, the Department of Social Services, and United Way, the Oswego County Children’s Fund will be distribute the toys to less fortunate children in throughout Oswego County.
The following local Clarkson University engineering students have been awarded scholarships from the Associated General Contractors New York State (AGC NYS) Scholarship program.
Residents of the Fulton Mill Apartments recently gathered in their community room to hear first graders at Granby Elementary sing traditional Christmas Carols. Students sang Santa Claus is Coming to Town, Jingle Bells and We Wish You a Merry Christmas with the help of their teachers.
Second graders at Lanigan Elementary School held a math-a-thon recently to earn money to buy food for needy families in the Fulton area. Through pledges, students were able to raise $2,000, part of which was used during a shopping trip to Struppler’s Shurfine Supermarket.
