Exchange students from all over Oswego County met recently at Apple Dale Orchards in Mexico, along with hot siblings and their host families. Education First foundation brings high school students to the US from twenty five foreign countries for a semester or a full school year.
Author/Illustrator Peter Catalanotto recently visited Granby and Fairgrieve Elementary schools to talk with kindergarten through second grade students about his stories and where they originate.

Students at Fairgrieve Elementary raised $178 for the Wounded Warrior Project as part of a school fundraiser. The project’s purpose is to honor and empower injured service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness or wound on or after September 11.
The Anthony J. Murabito Media Center at the Oswego High School will be the setting for the Oswego City Board of Education meeting on Tuesday.
The Friends of Oswego County Hospice are hosting its third annual “Lights of Remembrance” memorial tree lighting on December 5, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Oswego County Federal Credit Union on Scenic Avenue in Mexico. The tree lighting will take place at 5:30 p.m.
As part of the Oswego Middle School Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) initiative Principal Mary Beth Fierro presented Huckabee Fitzgerald with a “Once a Buc Always a Buc” T-shirt.
Supporters of the United Way of Greater Oswego County filled St. Joseph’s Parish Center in Oswego as the community came together to enjoy a delicious meal of soup, salad, rolls and dessert at United Way’s “Stone Soup” Luncheon. The annual event serves as a fundraiser for food pantries in Oswego County.
