During the month of December, members of Prince of Peace Church fill up small, colorful cardboard barns with loose change. The money goes to help buy animals for hungry people around the globe.
The Live and Love Life Oswego community blood drive is on tap for December 30 to support Cooper Levine’s fight against acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The drive will be held at the American Legion, 69 W. Bridge St., between noon and 6 p.m.

The Greater Parish Area Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Christmas Caroling and Tree Lighting at 6 p.m. at the Veterans’ Park. There will be snacks and games beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Mills and Petrie Memorial Gymnasium. The Annual Reading of the “Grinch Who Stole Christmas” will begin at 7 p.m. at the Village Gym. There just might be a Special Guest Visitor!

Late Night Shopping starts at 6 p.m. and has been extended to 11 p.m. to make sure you have enough time to get your shopping done! With strolling carolers to help set the scene, you know it will feel like christmas.
The Wednesday, December 18, Oswego City School District Board of Education meeting will be held at the Oswego High School Anthony J. Murabito Media Center. It will start with an executive session at 5 p.m.
The Sandy Creek School District’s Holiday Band Concert was held recently featuring performances by students in fifth through twelfth grades. The mix of traditional and festive music provided a wonderful transition into the holiday season.
The Fairley Elementary Family Fun Night in the Hannibal Central School District brought hundreds of students, parents, and community members together to create a whole host of ornaments and holiday decorations just in time for the holiday season.
