Reflections Hair Salon supports OCO Services to Aid Families

In recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, Reflections Hair Salon, 608 S. Fourth St., recently donated  $1,300 worth of hair products to Oswego County Opportunities Services to Aid Families Program for distribution to clients in the SAF program. SAF provides crisis intervention and support to local survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and other related crimes, such as stalking.

Port City Roller Derby named WFTDA Apprentice league

Port City Roller Derby was one of only 28 leagues worldwide in this fast-growing sport to attain this sought-after designation. Its new apprentice class includes U.S. leagues from California to Texas to Maine, the nearby Albany All-Stars to leagues across the globe from Arkansas to Australia to Alberta to Amsterdam, Finland and France, England and Germany.

Norene Cook joins CAC Staff

Executive Director of the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County, Karrie Damm announced that Norene Cook has joined the staff as an administrative assistant. Cook, who previously worked as a human resources coordinator and administrative assistant at the Miller Brewing facility in Fulton, had most recently worked in the customer service department at Kohl’s Department Store.

Fulton Family YMCA’s Halloween Event very successful

The Fulton Family YMCA hosted a great Halloween event which was enjoyed by many families in the community. The event has taken place for the past 8 years and grows in attendance each year. YMCA members and community participants were treated to hay rides, crafts, face painting, haunted displays, swamp monsters in the pool, DJ entertaining with music and mummy wraps, cookie decorating and refreshments and treats.
