Using a scale to measure 1 kilogram of rice into Ziploc bags, students in Deb Kenney’s third-grade class at Fairley Elementary School learned about partitioning, decomposing and illustrating various problems during a lesson Thursday.
Exceptional Education students in Mary Ryan’s class were recently treated to an outing to the Pet Supply Store on Main Street in Mexico. Students have been learning about animal classification, living environments, what foods different animals eat and how they survive in the wild.
Guidance Counselor Barb Carroll said, “A group of OHS counselors recently took a several students to the Construction Career Day at the New York State Fairgrounds. Youth is vital to the construction industry. Today’s high school students represent the pool of workers from which the construction industry will recruit its future workforce.”
The “Arts in the heART” Gallery, CNY Arts Center’s downtown Fulton venue is hosting an open mic night for local artists. On Nov. 17 at 6:30 p.m. the gallery, which is located in the heart of Fulton, on 47 S. First St., across from the city’s gazebo, will provide a welcome atmosphere for local artists to share their talent.

DuFore’s has donated a ladies’ diamond ring valued at $1,200, which will be used for a drawing in support of the United Way’s Annual Campaign. The diamond ring is currently on display at DuFore’s. The drawing will be held at 11 a.m. on December 24 at DuFore’s.
Second year cosmetology students enrolled in the Career and Technical Education program at Oswego County BOCES were invited to work at the Under the Clock Over The Rainbow Fashion and Art Show at Driver’s Village in October.
