The Scriba Food Pantry has served thousands of meals over the years to many residents in the town of Scriba. In fact, we’ve given out more than 1,000 meals in just the last three months. We have recently lost some much needed funding.
The H. Lee White Museum and Maritime Center’s 2013 History Lecture Series features Daniel Ward, curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the Erie Canal Museum in Syracuse, who will be presenting “Folklore of New York Inland Waterways” on June 22 at 1:30 p.m.
The event, which was hosted in conjunction with Sunnking Electronics Recycling and Time Warner Cable, benefited United Way of Greater Oswego County, with a penny per-pound recycled going to the organization.
On June 6, the members of Watertown Commandery No. 11 and Lake Ontario Commandery No. 32 installed their slates of officers for 2013 – 2014. The members of the two Commanderys gathered at Sandy Creek Masonic Temple and conducted their monthly meeting.
CNY Arts Center Kids onstage is looking for ages 5-18 to sign-up for its next production, Charlotte’s Web. Everyone who signs up will get a role. Rehearsals start June 22.
The State University of New York at Geneseo has announced its Dean’s List for the spring semester 2013. To be on the list, a student must have achieved at least a 3.5 grade point average while taking a minimum of 12 credit hours.
Enjoy an evening of fun-filled, toe-tapping music on June 28, with the Sounds of Brass at 6:30 p.m. at the Downtown Gazebo along the river on South First Street in Fulton. This free concert is sponsored by the City of Fulton Department of Parks and Recreation.
The Oswego Rotary Club recently honored five graduating seniors of the Oswego City School District and their parents at lunch with scholarships and an Occupational Education Award. Club President Tom Ingram presented framed certificates to the $1,000 scholarship recipients and a check to the award recipient.
Laura O’Brien from Oswego was named to the President’s List at The State University of New York at Geneseo for the spring semester 2013. To be on the list, a student must have achieved an A in all coursework (4.0 grade point average) while taking at least 12 credit hours.
Presented by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County with generous support from: Seedway, Synagri, Crop Production Service, Stokes Seeds, Syngenta Crop Protection, Bejo Seed and Helena Chemical. This two-hour on-farm meeting will provide crucial, in season research to aid onion growers with their management decisions to keep them profitable.
