The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified home health care, long-term home health care, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.
The First United Methodist Church of Fulton, 1408 State Route 176, across from the junior high school, will hold a yard sale today and Saturday. The hours will be: May 31 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. and June 1 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church will dedicate its newly restored sanctuary and fellowship hall during its 11 a.m. service on June 9. There will be no 8:30 service. Following the service, the church History Committee will host a display of pictures, memorabilia and books on the history of the church from its founding in 1870 to present.
This year’s Larry Mitchelson Fine Arts Scholarship recipient is Mariah Munger. Munger is a senior at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton and will receive a $1,000 scholarship towards her education at the State University of New York New Paltz.
The Fulton Junior High School’s Friends of Rachel (FOR) club recently collected much-needed items for the Oswego County SPCA and their four-legged friends. Some of the members are pictured here with the donations that included kitty litter, food, toys, blankets and other supplies for dogs and cats at the local animal shelter.
The top storytellers from each elementary school in the Fulton City School District were honored last week at a district-wide storytelling festival at the Fulton Education Center. Participants shared folklores, fairytales, legends and fables which ranged from spooky to downright hysterical. Many even included a useful moral lesson that provided a bit of advice to audience members.
Hope Fest 2013 is fast approaching, with three evenings of Christian outreach at the Fulton War Memorial June 7, 8 and 9. To help those without transportation, and also for those who do not want to have to park far away, the Hope Fest Committee is partnering with Oswego County Opportunities to provide free shuttle bus service each night.
CNY Arts Center’s third annual Arts Festival is here, June 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fulton Community Center Ice Rink on Broadway. The event brings artists and crafters together with handmade original art on display for show and sale along with food vendors.
