Lakeside Artisans Announce June Events
Release your inner artist at Lakeside Artisans, 191 W. First St. During the month of June, the artists’ co-op is offering a variety of creative arts classes. In addition to classes, Lakeside Artisans will host a series of demonstrations by local artists on Thursday evenings during the farmers’ market.

Feyh Inducted into Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society
As Mohawk Valley Community College closes out its spring semester, Alycia Feyh has been inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society. Feyh is one of 26 new members added to the Lambda Beta Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society with the completion of the spring 2013 semester.
Traditional Memorial Day Service At Rural Cemetery Set May 27
As has been tradition for many years, Oswego Town will present a special Memorial Day Service at the town’s Rural Cemetery on May 27 at 10 a.m. The Reverend Richard Sivers, an Oswego Town native, and now of the Dryden United Methodist Church, will be the guest speaker.
Doreen Clark promoted at United Way
Melanie Trexler, executive director of the United Way of Greater Oswego County, has announced that Doreen Clark has been promoted to director of finance.
Clark, who has worked in the accounting field for more than 20 years, joined the United Way staff in 2011 as finance manager.
Rudy’s Lakeside and Family Fun at June 8 Ride for Ramps Event
Motorcyclists can take part in a four-hour scenic ride through the North Country, runners can participate in a 5K run, and kids can pedal their bikes for a cause around Fort Ontario. At the fort, families can come together for a chicken BBQ provided by Woodchuck Saloon as well as hamburgers and hotdogs from Rudy’s Lakeside Drive-In.
Deaf/HH Club Travels the Road to Independence
The road to independence is different for everyone. For members of the Oswego County BOCES Deaf and Hard of Hearing Club this road travels through a world that is not catered to individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
GRB Class of 1968 to hold 45th Reunion
The G. Ray Bodley Class of 1968 will hold its 45th reunion, one-day event on August 10 from 1-5 p.m. at Fulton Elks on Pierce Drive, Fulton. $15 per person. Reservations needed by July 1.
Arts Fest Talent Competition Set June 8
The third annual Arts Fest will be held June 8 at Fulton War Memorial Ice Arena from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. with more than 40 artists and crafters and a talent competition for ages 12 and under, 12-20 and over 20. A prize for best garage band is a new category for this year’s competiton.
