Princess Winnifred shows strong resolve to land her prince, Dauntless, in SUNY Oswego’s production of “Once Upon a Mattress,” a musical comedy that will enter its second and final weekend at 8 p.m. April 27, with a matinee finale at 2 p.m. April 28.
For registrant’s in the St. Luke Adult Day Health Care program, marking the program’s twentieth year of service to the Oswego County community means giving back – in the form of “Twenty Acts of Kindness”.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month and this year’s campaign focuses on healthy sexuality and its connection to child sexual abuse prevention. On April 18, law enforcement officers around the state will participate in an Operation Safe Stop day. During “Safe Stop,” police officers are in marked patrol units enforcing the New York State Traffic Law which requires all vehicles to stop for stopped school busses with their red lights flashing.

And in 1925, she attended the Lions Clubs International Convention and challenged the Lions to become “knights of the blind in the crusade against darkness.”
SUNY Oswego junior zoology major Lacey Brown will spend 10 weeks this summer at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in a highly selective Research Experience for Undergraduates program in biology and neuroscience. Brown said she’d be working on biological engineering projects involving infectious diseases for 10 weeks starting June 2.
The 32nd Annual Memorial Day Salute Committee recently announced the winners of the Poster Contest held to create a patriotic poster in keeping with “America, United We Stand.” Taking first place as the winner of this year’s poster contest is Samantha Henderson.
The Oswego Fire Department announces the retirement of Deputy Chief Raymond “Buddy” Wilson. Wilson, along with four others was appointed on May 11, 1992, and served nearly 21 years while working his way through the ranks as a Firefighter, Lieutenant, Captain, and Deputy Chief while serving that time also as a paramedic.
