Students, their parents/guardians, and other family members turned out in large numbers to attend the first annual Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Elementary School Snow Ball, held at the school on January 25.

The Oswego Film Group presents a free screening of the celebrated mystical drama nominated for four Academy Awards this year, Beasts of the Southern Wild, on March 6 at 6:45 p.m. in the Community Room of the Oswego Public Library, 120 E.Second St.

The district recognizes that good attendance habits including arriving on time and ready to learn are critical to school success and also set the foundation for future success in college or a career.

Moms and sons enjoyed a dance together during the recent Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Elementary School Glow-In-The-Dark Dance. So did fathers and daughters.

This month, New York State will honor a group of individuals who are just getting started, students. February is National Youth Leadership Month.

Oswego County Opportunities’ Literacy Volunteers program is offering a tutor orientation for its 2013 spring session on April 15 from 5 to 8 p.m. The tutor orientation will be held at OCO’s Midtown Plaza Offices, 75 E. First St.

The next round of auditions will be held Feb. 16 from 2 to 3 p.m. at CNY Arts Center’s new facility in State Street Methodist Church, 357 State St.
