Members of the school’s HOPE Club (Helping Other People Everywhere), in conjunction with the school’s FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America), French Club, and Student Senate organized a canned food drive at their school just prior to winter recess.
Applications for 2013 scholarships from the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District Dollars for Scholars chapter will be available for students starting January 2.
The preschoolers at Discovery Day Care enjoyed “Camping” Day with their friends. The children had a nice picnic lunch outside, brought their sleeping bags for nap time and they also made binoculars to see if they could find any animals.
The local Cub Scout Packs: Oswego Pack 888, Fitzhugh Park Pack 809 and Minetto Pack 819 helped the Salvation Army with “Ringing of the Bells” at JcPennys in Oswego.

The CNY Arts Center Snow Day Committee is working hard to put details together for the second Annual Snow Day to be held January 19 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. The committee is thrilled to announce the event will be held at its new home this year, located at 357 State St.
Once again the holiday season means Oswego City School District nurses shifting into high gear to organize holiday giving projects to assist community families and children who might need some additional help to brighten the season.
The Oswego County Health Department Staff Association recently presented a check for more than $1,200 to Emily Bradshaw in support of Emily’s Mission. Through gift basket raffles, Staff Association members raised the money which will help efforts to fight homelessness in Oswego County and establish a shelter.
