Sue Bertsch, a Constellation Community Council member, presented $2,000 to Oswego High School technology teacher Matthew Bock. The money will be used to purchase parts and tools for the completion of an all-electric vehicle that the students hope to be able to enter in competition.

The Family Education and Partnership program invites families who have a child with a mental health diagnosis to enjoy an afternoon of free bowling on February 20 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Lakeview Lanes, Route 3 in Fulton.

The event will raise money for local fire departments and will begin the week of February 11 wrapping up around St. Patrick’s Day. Each account involved will have firefighter helmet cutouts for sale so the customer can write their name on them and hang them up within the establishment. 100% of the money raised will be donated to a department of choice.

The Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program in the Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District is accepting applications for the upcoming 2013-14 school year.

Program chairperson  Nancy Ellis introduced Jonathan Daniels, executive director of the Port of Oswego Authority, at a recent meeting of the Fulton Rotary Club. Daniels noted that Oswego is the oldest deep water, fresh water port in the US.

The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on February 24. Serving will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.

During the finance meeting the board members will hear some initial information regarding the 2013-14 school district budget.

All Oswego County government offices, including the solid waste transfer stations, will be closed on Monday, Feb. 18, for Presidents’ Day.

Most jobs require residency at Camp Hollis from Sunday evening through Friday evening each week, with weekends off.
