Hoodies, Christmas dinners, movie theatre along with Walmart and Subway gift cards were just some of the items donated along with substantial financial support from staff, faculty, Entergy, the Poverty Committee, Hibernians, Children’s Board, Novelis and Valti Graphics.

Silver Splash is a class for the active older adult designed to enhance each individual’s quality of life and daily function. Silver Splash utilizes the physical properties of water to enhance agility, range of motion, and cardiovascular conditioning. No swimming ability is required.

“The best way to find yourself, is to lose yourself in the service of others.” Those words, made famous by Mahatma Gandhi, characterize a recent community outreach project where students at Oswego County BOCES experienced the true spirit of generosity.

Students and staff at Oswego County BOCES rallied this holiday season to support a local non-profit organization in its more than 20-year mission of supporting people with terminal illnesses.

The Parish United Methodist hosted the Parish Ecumenical Christmas candlelight service on December 16. The weather cooperated this year and many were able to attend the beautiful service.

A piece entitled “Prayer of the Children,” which focused on the death of young children who died after a hospital they were patients in was bombed in war torn Eastern Europe, was dedicated to the children and adults who were killed in Newtown.

The Fitzhugh Park Elementary School “Care and Share” holiday effort received some assistance from the Oswego City School District Education Center staff and Board of Education members.
