The Visually Impaired Group of Oswego County generously donated three huge Thanksgiving food baskets to the Oswego County Opportunities Pinewoods Head Start Program.

Around 550 SUNY Oswego students, including more than 450 undergraduates, are eligible to take part in December graduation on Dec. 15, with many already working on their next steps.

Lanigan Elementary School fourth grade student, Braeden Dempsey knows that “It’s Cool 2B in School.” Braeden is the school’s first quarter winner of the “It’s Cool 2B in School” attendance drawing.

On Tuesday evening, the stars were shining bright in the auditorium at G. Ray Bodley High School. The stars were the fifth and sixth grade performing arts students from Volney Elementary School that took the stage to participate in the school’s annual winter concert.

Fifth and sixth grade students, under the direction of band director JoAnne Sherwood, chorus director Stephanie Almeter, and orchestra director Kelly Evans performed several songs for an audience of family, friends, and community members on Tuesday evening.

In recognition of Coach Decker’s lasting impact both on and off the basketball court, the APW Central School District, by recommendation of many alumni, named the new basketball court at the APW Junior/Senior High School Grant Decker Court.

The Financial Aid Open House will be held from 9 to 11:30 a.m. February 2 on the Auburn Campus, 197 Franklin St., Auburn; and from 6 to 8:30 p.m. February 6, on the Fulton Campus, 11 River Glen Drive, Fulton.

On December 3, members of Lake Ontario Chapter No. 165 held their annual meeting and election of officers. A meal of meatloaf and baked potatoes was prepared by Lake City Victoria Chapter No. 205 Easter Star.
