The society held its last meeting of the year on November 24. A good number attended the fine lunch served by Erma Schroeder. The meeting was conducted by Greg Monette in the absence of President Doyle.

Ben Turner of Murdock’s Bicycles and Sports in Oswego has collected 6 boxes of food to date. He started collecting food at his store in support of United Way’s Annual Stone Soup luncheon and is continuing to do so until Christmas.

Preparations are under way for the annual holiday bazaar at the Bowen’s Corners United Methodist Church to be held Friday and Saturday. The event will feature crafts, a bake sale and candy sale, and a luncheon, which will be served throughout the day. Bazaar hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Plan to attend the Holiday Farmers’ Market December 1 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Mexico VFW on State Route 3 just north of the village of Mexico, sponsored by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County.

The Oswego County Legislature recognized the Lioness Club of Central Square with a certificate of commendation at its November meeting. The group will celebrate the 30th anniversary of its apple festival next year.
