Students and staff at Oswego County BOCES rallied this holiday season to support a local non-profit organization in its more than 20-year mission of supporting people with terminal illnesses.
The Parish United Methodist hosted the Parish Ecumenical Christmas candlelight service on December 16. The weather cooperated this year and many were able to attend the beautiful service.
A piece entitled “Prayer of the Children,” which focused on the death of young children who died after a hospital they were patients in was bombed in war torn Eastern Europe, was dedicated to the children and adults who were killed in Newtown.
The Fitzhugh Park Elementary School “Care and Share” holiday effort received some assistance from the Oswego City School District Education Center staff and Board of Education members.

BOCES Career and Technical Education students in the Culinary Arts program mentored young students from Janet McKnight’s class at New Haven Elementary School in the art of cookie making.
Through their “Be A Santa For A Senior” program, the Fulton Kinney Drugs collected gifts, and donated them to Michaud – to help make sure residents find something special under the Christmas tree this season.
Fair weather in the past six weeks has allowed construction crews to make progress, and workers have begun pouring concrete for the building foundation. Site work has developed the main access road and building utilities are being laid.
