It’s 6 a.m. on a cold, 26 degree Fahrenheit morning, dark as the inside of your hat outside, and he said loudly, “the Prodigal has returned.” He meant “Earl Gray Cat,” a little male stray or feral cat that has been coming to our porch for canned cat food and chow for several years now. He is shy of people but lured by the food we have put out nightly.

The program enrolls three- and four-year-old children and is provided at no cost to families. Offering four- and six-hour classes in Phoenix, Head Start’s goal is promoting school readiness.

The annual major research project is something that many students long remember. Teacher Sandy Brown said, “The students love this project. Several become totally immersed in it. I still see students that participated in this 10 years ago and they still remember and talk about this project.”

The Manor at Seneca Hill’s multiple sclerosis support group will host a guest speaker at its meeting on December 5 held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. in the healthcare facility’s first floor dining room.

A large number of people participated in the second annual Oswego High National Honor Society No Shave November fundraiser.

Cheryl Welles, Director of Community Relations at Empower Federal Credit Union spent two days at the school speaking to seventh grade students in the Family and Consumer Science class about budgeting, lending, loans, and credit.
