To celebrate the APW school district’s reconfiguration to a state-of-the-art elementary and junior/senior high school campus and thank the community for their vision, support and sacrifice throughout the renovation process, the Board of Education will be hosting a dedication ceremony on October 30.

The Oswego City School District Board of Education will meet at 5 p.m. on October 23 in the Education Center. The executive session to discuss the superintendent’s evaluation will be scheduled for the end of the regular meeting.

The Oswego County Department of Social Services will sponsor an informational meeting from 9 to 11 a.m. Nov. 6, at Liberty Resources, 1850 county Route 57, Fulton, for people who are interested in becoming foster or adoptive parents.

Recently, Oswego High School students donated 37 pints of blood  to the Red Cross Bloodmobile program. Once again, the OHS chapter of the National Honor Society sponsored the event in conjunction with school nurse-coordinator  Aimee DeVinny.

It’s time for all ghouls, goblins, gnomes and witches to pull the costumes from the closet and polish the pumpkins. Fair Haven’s annual All-Hallow-Eve Celebration and Witches Parade is on its way.

The Victory Bible Church of Central Square recently donated $460 to Project Lifesaver in Oswego County. The contribution will be used to acquire new transmitter bracelets, batteries and receivers for the program.

On November 3 from 10 a.m. to noon, Brittney Jerred will present Writing True Life, a creative writing workshop at the Oswego Public Library. Those who come will have the opportunity to write in class with timed-writing exercises geared toward recording true life experiences.
