Lauren Antone of Central Square has enrolled at The College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY. Antone, a graduate of Paul V Moore High School, is one of 595 students who make up the college’s class of 2016.
“Having served as St. Lawrence County Clerk, I am familiar with the job and responsibilities and I know that Michael Backus is the right person for the Clerk’s office here in Oswego County,” Senator Ritchie said.
World Day of Bullying Prevention was held on Monday with “Blue Shirt Day.” Oswego Middle School student Sophie Woods brought the idea to Superintendent of Schools Bill Crist. World Day of Bullying Prevention was also a part of the Charles E. Riley Elementary School Day. Students created artwork recognizing the problem.
The Oswego County Health Department will hold a rabies clinic for dogs, cats and pet ferrets from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 10, at the West Monroe Town Highway Garage, 46 County Route 11, West Monroe.
Exciting things are happening for local writers at CNY Arts Center. The first ever Writer’s Café held in September was deemed a success with six readers sharing works of fiction, non-fiction, essay and poetry. The café, organized by Writing Arts Coordinator Jim Farfaglia, is a venue for local writers to share their work with others.
Assemblyman Will Barclay today reminded women of the importance of getting a mammogram. “October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a significant time to remind women that ‘When you take care of yourself, you are taking care of your family,’” said Barclay.
