On July 19 more than 80 people gathered at Breitbeck Park in Oswego for the Literacy Volunteers of Oswego County annual picnic and awards ceremony. The evening began with Diane Cooper-Currier, executive director of OCO, welcoming all attendees.
The SUNY Oswego Office of Business and Community Relations will launch the 20th year of its Leadership Oswego County program with a welcome reception for the class of 2013 on Sept. 12.
The Oswego City School District Board of Education will meet for a special session on Aug. 28 at the Education Center. The call to order will be at 5 p.m.
For caregivers who find themselves raising their relatives’ children, finding support is not an easy task, however, Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s Relatives Raising Relatives program has established three unique groups to provide caregivers with the answers and support they need.
Thanks to the tremendous outpouring of support we received from the community and the tireless effort of our many volunteers, the Annual Stuff-A-Bus Campaign, a partnership between Oswego County school districts and United Way of Greater Oswego County, was a resounding success.

My elderly lab, Snoozer, just lies around all day in the heat and seems to be having a really hard time this year. I had him shaved down so his coat was fairly short at the beginning of the summer, but that has grown back in.
