To help community members who want to find their roots, Oswego Public Library is offering a two-hour genealogy workshop with expert Amy Starr Zuch, of North Country Library System, on July 14 from 1 to 3 p.m.
The Oswego County Emergency Management Office/Emergency Medical Services will offer Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) courses beginning Aug. 27, in Fulton and Pulaski.
The session for interested adults who are retired, semi-retired or considering retirement will take place following the RSVP Osteo Bone Builders class from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
The Oswego Fair Housing Council recently announced the 2012 winners of its annual coloring contest. Community Bank, Fulton Savings Bank, Pathfinder Bank and Lighthouse Lanes all donated prizes for the winners.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Economic Development and Planning Committee recently presented a certificate of recognition to students from G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton as the winning team of the 2012 Oswego County Envirothon.
Each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday participants in the CYO Summer Program will be able to enjoy a book reading, discover the world of e-books, and learn more about the Fulton Public Library and what it has to offer young people.
The children’s camp is operated by the Oswego City-County Youth Bureau and located on the shore of Lake Ontario in the Town of Oswego. A limited number of openings are still available for campers.
All persons aged 60 and over whose gross income is at or below 185 percent of federal poverty guidelines ($1,722 monthly for a single person or $2,333 monthly for a two-person household) are eligible to participate in the program.
The Parish Public Library will continue a photography exhibit for the month of July. “Two for the Show” includes 30 photos with a nature theme done by two Parish residents.
