The United Way of Greater Oswego County’s Stuff-A-Bus Campaign received some much welcomed support recently when the Fulton Lions Club made a donation of $500.

Resource Development Director for United Way of Greater Oswego County, Lois Luber, accepted a $5,000 check from Walter Dengos, Community & Customer Management Manager for National Grid, in support of the agency’s Annual Campaign.

The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County.

Ever wonder how your food gets from the field to your plate? For Tom Rivers, a reporter for the Daily News in Batavia who covers agriculture and community issues, that question inspired him to find the answer first hand and led him on a journey that took him into those fields.

A field of 36 teams took to the links for a day of golf and fun in the 17th Annual United Way Golf Tournament, held July 16 at the Oswego Country Club.

Existing patients of OCO Health Centers are able to receive medical treatment quickly at the walk-in clinics for acute illnesses and minor injuries. OCO health providers at the walk-in clinics provide a wide range of care when medical conditions require prompt attention and there is no immediate, serious threat to health or life.

All events start on the Mexico High School athletic fields. The fun run begins at 8:30 on the track and the 5K Cider Run/Walk begins at 9:00 on Liberty Street. The first 125 registrants for the 5K run/walk receive a free long-sleeved T-shirt, designed especially for the Cider Run by Custom Novelty Prints.

The new online resource – which will debut mid-August – highlights New York Sea Grant’s research, extension, education and information endeavors for New York’s Great Lakes and marine waters.

The Oz Roller Girls will help the Oswego YMCA with the Kids’ Bike Challenge during the Tour de Loop on Aug. 18.
