The Oswego County Historical Society will host its next lecture entitled “History of the Oswego Yacht Club” on June 24 at 1:30 p.m. in the community room of the Oswego Public Library at 120 E. Second St., Oswego.

Continental Arms Collectors Association took part in Fort Ontario’s annual Flag Day program.  The event, attended by over 1000 people, commemorated the adoption of the American Flag on June 14, 1777.

Sixth grade students at Granby Elementary School showed off their talent on June 12 at their annual Sixth Grade Has Got Talent Show.

Jeannene Bolen of Oswego was named the 2012 “Mental Health Aide Specialist of the Year” at Home Aides of Central New York’s Annual Aide Recognition Dinner.

The winner, John Boots, purchased the winning ticket at the Mapleview Family Restaurant at 2023 Route 104 in Parish.

Come dressed in clothes that can get dirty and with comfortable shoes to prune city trees and dig mulch away from the tree bark. All are invited to learn about tree maintenance.

The package includes round-trip transportation on a DVD- and lavatory-equipped motor coach, baggage handling, two nights’ accommodation at Hampton Inn and Suites Hotel, two breakfasts, one dinner, an illumination tour and a three-and-a-half-hour city tour.
There will be free time for tourists to explore and shop on their own.

Kyle Backer, a resident of Oswego, was part of the winning collegiate design team that took first place in the 2012 RIT Institute of Electrical Electronics Engineering student design contest.
