Universal Metal Works and Rombough Electric have partnered with the Tri-Oswego Triathlon, on the manufacturing of 54 new bike racks for use with this year’s event, and other triathlon/cycling races going forward, according to Shane Broadwell, Tri-Oswego Race Director.
The event will begin at 2 pm on June 23 until June 24 at 2 p.m. Field Day is an annual amateur radio exercise, widely sponsored by IARU regions and member organizations encouraging emergency communications preparedness among amateur radio operators.
During those really hot days last week, I was in the Penney’s parking lot in Oswego and I saw a dog left in a car in the lot. The windows were cracked, but I was very worried. The owner said it was OK because the windows were open.
The Oswego County Office for the Aging will sponsor “Medicare 101,” an informational seminar, to help soon-to-be Medicare beneficiaries better understand the federal health care insurance program for people aged 65 and over.
The Greater Mexico Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 5th Annual Mexico Music Festival on June 9. The festival includes music from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m., an arts and crafts fair and the Great American Duck Race.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on June 24. Serving will be from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
These work-based learning programs, in conjunction with the CTE class, provide students with hands-on experience in jobs directly related to their career field. Worksite tours, job shadow, internships, capstone, co-op and clinical work experience opportunities are coordinated by Oswego County BOCES with industry partners for every CTE program.
The 3 p.m. program will begin with a tribute to Dr. Mary Walker in honor of her 180th birthday and the recent dedication of her statue at the Oswego Town Hall. Next will be a 100th anniversay tribute to the victims and survivors of the Titanic.
The Oswego City School District Board of Education will meet for committee and regular meetings on Tuesday, June 5 at the Education Center.
