Assemblyman Will Barclay said it’s the Assembly’s turn to take up legislation to penalize users of synthetic drugs. “This is the next step to combating these drugs. There has to be consequences for users, similar to how marijuana or illegal narcotic users are penalized,” said Barclay.
The Oswego County Legislature recognized wrestler Tyler Button with a certificate at their April meeting. Button received the title of New York State Division II Wrestling Champion after his 1st place finish in the 145-pound weight class.
With more than 1,700 SUNY Oswego students eligible to take part in May 12 Commencement ceremonies, many are already finding paths in their chosen fields.
There will be performances from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Children’s Room. Meet the storytellers and have refreshments following the program.
The Humane Association of Central New York, Inc. will hold its annual “Biggest Bake Sale Ever” fundraiser at the Fayetteville Towne Center on May 12, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. in the Community Center.
Hosted by McDonald’s Restaurant in Central Square, the event helped to raise awareness of hunger in Oswego County and encouraged community members to support OCO’s March for Meals campaign.
The conference was held at the New York State Fairgrounds in Syracuse in late April and gave OCB students an opportunity to showcase their skills in a variety of technical, trade and leadership contests.
Several local residents are scheduled to complete their graduate studies this year at SUNY Oswego and will be recognized May 12 at the college’s 151st Commencement.
Roger Auger, a representative from Hunter Engineering Company was a recent guest speaker in the Adult Education Auto Tech class at Oswego County BOCES.
